What do explorers do?

Explorers do a wide range of things but by this age range, the emphasis has changed to allow them to play a big part in deciding what they want to do as a unit. There are no real limits to what can be done – they regularly go camping, do day visits, and even just chill out together round a camp fire!

Explorer Scouts write their own programme and the leaders facilitate the activities that their unit has chosen.

Explorers tend to focus their efforts on completing their Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Awards which simultaneously allow them to achieve their Platinum and Diamond Chief Scout Awards.

Most of their communication is between the Explorers via a closed facebook page, rather than leaders emailing parents.
